The press is talking about it

Aeternus – 22/05/13: Citrus and almond paste in a fresh “climate”
On the nose, this delightful vintage reveals aromas of citrus and almond paste. The palate is left with a refreshing sensation. The Roussanne grape expresses itself in its full power. This 2019 Confidence offers a good balance between sweetness and acidity with a controlled tension and a long aftertaste. It pairs beautifully with red mullet, shellfish such as lobster, as well as white meats. As a dessert wine, it brings out the flavors of an 18-month-aged Comté cheese.

Luxury-Touch.com – 22/03/15: Would you like a Roussanne des Alpilles? Its nose is as mesmerizing as it is smooth. Just one whiff of this white wine makes you imagine its texture. A caress, a gentle, comforting hug full of hope. Light bursts from the nose to the mouth. The whole experience is carried by an aromatic persistence that never leaves us. A versatile Grand Blanc, but it might be difficult to pair with food because the bottle might disappear quickly. In the end, it’s better to reserve two bottles if you want to share the magic of its pairings at the table.

Avis-vins Le Figaro – 21/10/07: A wine and a recipe: a pure Roussanne from the Alpilles region paired with Emmanuel Renaut’s Greek-style mushrooms from his three-star restaurant Flocons de sel. This refreshing aromatic Roussanne evokes notes of orange blossom and fresh almond, as thirst-quenching as a glass of barley syrup on a sunny afternoon. The wine’s texture is polished by barrel aging and bottle aging, yielding further notes of hazelnut and chestnut honey. On the palate, the creamy and citrusy tension combine for a delightful harmony. This cuvée pairs brilliantly with delicate chanterelle mushroom flavors and their slight bitterness. Read the article on lefigaro.fr

EcoRéseau Business – dec2020-jan2021: The Roussane vines planted at high altitudes are meticulously cultivated with severe pruning and spring bud removal to control yields that do not exceed 30 hl/ha. This great wine (100% Roussanne) fully expresses its complex aromas of citrus, yellow flowers, and toast after being aged in oak barrels for a year. The wine’s assertive elegance offers a lively mouthfeel that oscillates between opulence and complexity, juicy and almost iodized, and perfectly floral. The wine’s freshness is preserved, and it pairs well with subtle food dishes! Serve between 12 and 15°C and enjoy with a red mullet fillet, a scallop fricassee, a veal roast with morels, or a langoustine risotto.

L’Honoré Magazine – 2020/05/27: […] To find the Roussanne vines of the Domaine d’Eole, you need to climb a little higher into the mountains. They are cultivated with severe pruning and springtime bud removal to ensure a yield of no more than 30 hectoliters per hectare. The Confidence cuvée is made exclusively from this grape variety, and is a pure expression of Roussanne with its complex aromas of citrus and yellow flowers. Delicate and lively with a slightly woody character, this great white wine also delights with its finish of quince and almond. In its own way, it provides another glimpse of the fine work done by the Domaine d’Eole.

Gourmets & Co :A nose of yellow fruits, a rich and ample mouthfeel, a heady finish but with a certain freshness nonetheless. Perfect with fennel-seared fish, tarragon chicken, or scallops. Serve at 12°C.

EcoRéseau Business – february 2019: This 100% Roussanne wine is made from a perfect plot for creating pure Roussanne, fully expressing its complex aromas of citrus and yellow flowers. Its delicate character is reflected in its lively, round, and slightly toasted palate, with a beautiful length of quince paste and almonds. Serve between 12 and 15°C with red mullet, scallop fricassee, or veal roast with morels.

Robert Parker Wine Advocate – 19/05/09 : (rating:92+ – drink date : 2019-2025 ) The 2016 IGP Alpilles Confidence is all barrel-fermented Roussanne, with about 20% new oak. Toast and honeyed notes mark the nose, along with scents of grilled pineapple. It’s medium to full-bodied, fleshy and plump, then rich, long and mouthwatering on the finish. If it ages like other top Roussannes tend to, it might be even better in five years’ time.

Terroir Evasion – February 12, 2018: This pale yellow crystal clear wine is revealed to be ample and fleshy from the first sip. It is generous and well-balanced, with floral notes of honeysuckle, honey, and subtle hints of roasted hazelnuts that give it a sensual touch. It is full of energy and freshness with a surprisingly persistent finish. It would be the perfect companion for pan-seared scallops and Bresse chicken with cream and morels sauce.

Centre Presse – January 26th, 2018: A beautiful freshness. Floral, with notes of acacia honey, pineapple, and subtly toasted hazelnuts, this blend reflects the power of the roussanne grape. Its body and long finish are perfectly balanced.

SudOuest – Pour une Saint-Valentin raffinée – February 2nd, 2017: We have been following and loving for a long time this Domaine d’Eole, located in the precise southern part of Alpilles, and managed under organic farming principles. This 100% Roussanne, aged in oak barrels, is in line with the usual style of the winery: it shines in the glass, it is delicate and fresh, highlighted by floral (acacia) and fruity (pear, pineapple) notes, with a roasted finish (hazelnuts). What if, instead of champagne, we opt for an aperitif rich in “Confidence”, followed by a scallop carpaccio?
